In Night Sky with Exit Wounds, Vuong mixes personal reflection with broader historical and cultural contexts, creating a space where memory, grief, and desire intertwine. The collection’s title evokes the imagery of the night sky as a canvas for scars—both personal and collective—suggesting the indelible marks left by trauma and love. Vuong’s lyrical style invites readers into an emotional landscape that is at once universal and deeply individual.
