By Sudhakar Dikshit, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Sudhakar S. Dikshit (Authors)

Description:

I Am That: Talks with Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj is a profound collection of conversations between Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, one of the 20th century's most revered spiritual teachers, and his followers. This book presents a series of dialogues that reveal Maharaj's deep insights into the nature of self, consciousness, and the ultimate truth. Known for his direct and uncompromising teachings, Nisargadatta’s words cut through the layers of illusion to offer the seeker a direct experience of their true nature.

In this work, Maharaj engages with people from all walks of life, answering questions on topics ranging from the nature of the self and the universe, to the concept of ego and the pursuit of enlightenment. His teachings are rooted in the tradition of Advaita Vedanta, a school of thought that emphasizes non-duality and the realization that the individual self (Atman) is one with the universal consciousness (Brahman).

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj's approach is known for its simplicity, clarity, and directness. He encourages his listeners to go beyond the mind, to transcend the ego, and to realize the oneness of all existence. His teachings focus on self-inquiry and the importance of self-awareness in realizing one’s true nature. The dialogues in I Am That are marked by their profound spiritual wisdom, yet they remain grounded in practical application for those on the path of self-realization.

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj’s teachings are not about theory but about direct experience and realization. His words challenge the conventional perceptions of the world and invite readers to explore their consciousness, leading to the possibility of profound personal transformation.
